Sahara India Parivaar has sopped up film producer, Boney Kappor to rejuvenate its media and entertainment business, Sahara One Media and Entertainment Ltd (Somel) that includes the television broadcasting and film production.
With effect to this development, Boney will take up as the head of Sahara One Media and Entertainment Ltd (Somel). Sahara has become the first broadcasting firm to involve a film producer to disseminate the broadcasting affair. The objective of bringing up him is to enhance the business of shara in media and film arenas.
Sahara One and its sister movie channels FILMY and Firangi are not doing really well and hence Boney has been appointed as the new director of the network to stimulate Sahara’s TV and film business.
Boney kapoor and subrata roy share a pleasant relationship and boney kapoor has co-produced many bollywood films with Sahara group. The new and ultra modern state-of-the-art stadium built by the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) on the outskirts of Pune is being named after Subrata Roy Sahara, the Chairman and Managing Worker of the Sahara Group. This stadium is known as Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium. This announcement was made by ICC President Mr. Sharad Pawar. Initially the stadium was planned to be named after Sahara India Group but due to technical reasons MCA thought of naming the state-of-the-art stadium after the name of the visionary Chairman and Managing Worker of Sahara India Pariwar, as Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium.
Sahara will have naming rights for the stadium in perpetuity.

Sahara will build an ultra modern club at the site of the stadium with modern amenities and facilities with 40 rooms at their own cost and will get rights to sell membership for the club. Pune Warriors team will make this stadium as their base and home ground. This ultra modern stadium is designed by world renowned architects. Sahara India Pariwar with its own team in Pune turned out to be the best and most interested bidder. Their offer for the naming and ancillary rights was unanimously accepted by the MCA. This cricket stadium will be a boon for the millions of cricket fans and lovers of Pune and Maharashtra.
