Behaviour Change Communication Project: An initiative by Subrata Roy

Subrata Roy's Sahara India Pariwar is a major business conglomerate in India with operations in multiple sectors, including financial services, housing finance, mutual funds, life insurance, city development, real estate activities, print and television media, film production, sports, information technology, healthcare, tourism, hospitality, commodity sales & services and consumer products. Subrata Roy's Sahara Group which is one of the largest business conglomerate of India has been over a decade is financially and emotionally supporting the families of martyrs who displayed the unmatched valor and courage at the time when our nation was under attack.

Sahara works on various projects like Nutrition, Literacy, Vocational Training, Civic Development, Behavioral Change, Communication and Rehabilitation of the Physically Challenged People. Under the Behaviour Change Communication Project, Sahara India Pariwar makes effort to cater to social and mental problems of the children of the age group of 3-14 yrs. The main objective of this project is to treat those children who are suffering from Slow Learning, Learning Disability, Emotional Behavioural problems, Behaviour not in accordance with law and social norms, Temper tantrums, Bedwetting or Enuresis etc.

Sahara also works on various Health programmes, including Mobile Healthcare Units under which 49 medical vans across the country are running 30 days a month, throughout the year, taking free primary healthcare services to the remotest rural areas where medical services do not exist. Sahara Welfare Foundation, the social development unit of Sahara India Pariwar, is engaged in social welfare projects, alleviating people's sufferings and bringing to them new rays of hope and a brighter tomorrow. The projects of Sahara Welfare Foundation focus on women and disabled who are socially and economically deprived.

Sahara India Pariwar has established the Center for Handicapped to address the nationwide problems of physically challenged brethren. It aims at identifying the types of problems faced by the disabled persons, providing early identification guidelines, assessing disability, providing management & guidance for guardians of disabled. Facilities like physical & audio-metric tests, speech therapy, I.Q tests, repairing of co-appliances, providing essential aids & appliances on short-term basis is being provided through experienced specialists in the relevant fields.
